Education, Professional Associations & Memberships

Bar Admissions:  Ms. Shields was admitted to the District of Columbia bar in 1983 and to the California State Bar in 1985.  She is a member of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals.

Ms. Shields graduated from Howard University Law School in 1983 with honors.  She was the copy editor of the Howard University Law Journal and graduated 3rd in her class of 181 students.  She also graduated with honor from Howard University School of Communication and she was the Editor of the Dean's Newsletter and a Copy Editor for the University Weekly News paper, The Hilltop.
